The Asian Piano Chime Wind Chime is different from other chimes as it is "polyphonic". In laymen's terms, this means the musical texture consists of two or more simultaneous lines of independent melodies. Here, 16 aluminum chimes are aligned in parallel, creating two lines of 8 matching pitches. Two wooden clappers glide between, via the wind. If you were to run one clapper though the center of the chime, you would hear over laying notes, in harmony.
